Day 1: Home – Zandhoven (B)
Sun up: 8:37 uur Sun down: 16:37 uur
Holiday starts culinary.
Christmas Eve with the in-laws. Great food, good company and gifts
Day 2: Zandhoven – Sittensen (D)
Sun up: 8:36 uur Sun down: 16:12 uur
We start at 7 am out of bed.
Coffee, sandwich and we are gone.
Via the E34 direction Venlo, Eindhoven, Germany.
Ridden in the drizzle all day long, good that everything is watertight.
Furthermore, no noteworthy things along the way.
End the day at a nice CP (motorhome parking) in Sittensen, at an old watermill that is still running.
Whether he still serves, we do not know.
Delicious Christmas menu made from freshly baked potatoes with delicious fresh chicken ragou, all accompanied by delicious Parisian champion fried in the pan.
Thank you chef
On to tomorrow, on to Rostock for the ferry.
If this sails because forecast at sea 7 to 8 Beaufort for the non-sailors among us, that is a lot of very strong wind BBHHHAAAAAAA.
Wait, another drink and later in bed.
Day 3: Sittensen – Rostock (D)
Sun up: 8:35 uur Sun down: 15:52 uur
Put out of bed in a comfortable hour by the bells of the church, 5:45 am Oh well.
It is raining and 10 degrees outside, inside it is already a lot warmer.
Madam des mobilhomes sleeps until just after 7 am, the driver makes toasts that could have been in the oven for a little longer.
But a warm sandwich can also taste good.
After breakfast, prepare everything to ride, today to Rostock.
Everything goes smoothly, we even get a bit of sun later in the morning
But the wind is strong, and yes.
As written yesterday, the ferry was canceled due to the storm.
I go to the counter, trucks is another line sir she says, I say its not a truck, that is a camper and immediately I had a good relationship with sweet lady behind the counter.
We are transferred to the ferry from 11 pm this night, arrival at Trelleborg 6 am.
Now rest, read, cook a little later and maybe take a nap if possible.
On to the story of tomorrow.
Day 4: Rostock – Nyköping (S)
Sun up: 8:36 uur Sun down: 15:01 uur
After much and long doubt it is decided that a ferry leaves from Rostock to Trelleborg.
Stennaline has transferred us to the TT line, and we have known that.
Gently expressed TT line is in my opinion a 3rd rank ferry company that should only be able to transport freight, but certainly not passengers.
nothing, zero accommodation on board
After a fairly quiet crossing we arrive in Sweden with very little sleep, at 7:30 am we are allowed to disembark.
And then we start our trip to the North.
Via the E 4 we arrive in Nyköping today.
Day 5: Nyköping – Hogakustenbron (S)
Sun up: 8:43 uur Sun down: 14:16 uur
After having had a very tiring day yesterday, with the result that we were in bed early.
So on time out of bed today, at 5:45 am the alarm goes off.
But we are incredibly rested, slept wonderfully.
So I had a good breakfast to get ready for departure at 7:15 AM.
we immediately left.
Driving with the sun rise in the back farther north, and we notice that we are driving north.
The days here become very fast. Today we have 5:30 hr sunlight, but there is still a twilight period that lasts 1:30 hours before sunrise and after sunset.
We are not used to this, the Swedes do not understand what we are doing here.
Of course we hope to see the northern lights, that is why we are here.
Today we sleep in a spot just behind Harnosand, on a CP near the visitor center of Hogakustenbron “bridge”
I hope to be able to make some nice pictures of the bridge here.
